The Master in Environment intends to train masters capable of producing and applying interdisciplinary environmental knowledge aiming at the solution of current and future environmental problems of society, which can contribute to the development of the State of Maranhão.

Specific objectives

- Train adequately qualified human resources in an interdisciplinary model to understand and propose environmental solutions converging knowledge on a global scale from regional issues.

- Produce interdisciplinary environmental knowledge from active methodologies that meet socio-environmental demands, where the diversity of the state's ecosystem is explored from a global view of existing knowledge.

- Transform the knowledge produced into contributions to regional development and environmental education within the public and private education structure of the State and in the social sphere at the scale of communities.

- Promote the training of teachers and the training of researchers in the area of ​​the Environment.

- Promote the development of research and technology in the field of quality management and manipulate and in the interaction of health and the environment.

Graduates must be able to:

- Identify, propose and implement solutions for socio-environmental problems, in an integrated and interdisciplinary perspective.
